What is the cost of a Granny Bike conversion kit?

What is the shipping cost?

The Basic Kit (6 lbs.) Costs approximately $25.00 in Can$ to Canadian destinations, and $28.00 in Can$ to US destinations. The cost to ship to Europe approximately $100.00. in Can $. Plus 5% to 13% HST on Canadian orders.

The Basic Kit and Carrier (10 lbs.) Cost approximately $30.00in Can$ to Canadian destinations, and $35.00 in Can$ to US destinations. Plus 5% to 13% HST on Canadian orders.

What weight will the carrier support?

The carrier will support a 150 lb load.

What is the distance between the bikes?

The distance is 28.25 inches as measured on tire center line. To that you have to add the width of the handle bars.

Is it difficult to assemble?

There are instructions included with the kit. The first time it will likely take 30 to 60 minutes to assemble. Partial disassembly to store, only 5 minutes. Reassembly 10 minutes.

How stable is it to ride?

It is more stable than a tricycle when ridden by two people.

Can one person ride it?

One person can ride it but it is less stable, having lost the counter weight of the missing person. It can be tipped over one way.

Must both bicycles be the same size?

Both bicycles should be the same size for ease of assembly and set up. Small differences can be accommodated with some small adjustments for those mechanically adept.

Could there be a conflict between the two riders?

There could be as to direction of travel but generally this is not a problem. There is no conflict as far as pedaling and braking is concerned. One person could just sit and ride if they so wish.

The only tools required are a 1/2 inch deep socket and a 1/2 inch wrench and maybe a pair of pliers. If an umbrella holder or carrier are added, then include a pair of 7/16 wrenches.
